The CENTER will strengthen international collaborations and attract more foreign researchers with "state-of-art" technologies in genomic research, especially the outstanding overseas Chinese scientists£¬to the Chinese Human Genome Project. Meanwhile, the CENTER also welcomes the collaborations with enterprises at home and abroad to promote future scientific researches. All kinds of cooperation will be appreciated, no matter small project, joint ventures, personnel communication or technology exchanges.
In brief, the CENTER will coordinate the major human genome projects in various frontier areas in Shanghai, provide high quality service for research institutions and biotech/pharmaceutical companies at home and abroad, and serve as an incubator of genomic industry in China. Abiding by the guideline of "having limited but achievable goals in basic research", the CENTER will devote itself to the scientific researches taking advantage of genetic resources (including populations, families and disease samples) in China. The foundation of the CENTER will accelerate the human genome research in China and provide favorable opportunities for Shanghai for the further development in the field of biomedicine.
